I love this new Bad Boys After Dark series by Melissa Foster and was
extremely excited that she released Mick! But I honestly didn't expect it to
literally become my favorite book of the series.
Amanda Jenner is tired of feeling like she is the magnet for every
boring man out there; As a Paralegal, she has her read screwed on right! But
she is tired of being the responsible one! So she after a little research (she
is a paralegal after all), she picks a book called The Handbook: Release Your Inner Temptress; and after mentally
practicing it on her boss, Mick Bad (the man she has had a secret crush on for
years), she takes the biggest step of all and hits a bar with a costume night;
to find a real man she can practice on. And when she does hook the man she has
been eyeing all night, she has a feeling that he is going to give her more than
she expects…
Mike Bad is the ultimate one night stand player, after watching his
father destroy his family, he vowed never to have a relationship or have kids,
no! casual hook ups, no stings, no expectations were the way for him, which he
was in that bathroom of a seedy bar, with a masked women who seems to want him
as much as he wants her…that is until he notices something about this
women…something that he as seen before on the one person he had to fight
himself to stay away from…Amanda.
Realizing that it is Amanda he calls a stop to their passionate moment,
he knows he can't leave it at that, so he arranged to meet again the next
night. But when he reveals that he is her masked man from the night before,
Amanda is shocked (and a little embarrassed), but they agree on one night
together and then they would forget that it ever happened…but would one night
ever be enough?!
This book has it all! Hot sex, a emotionally scared man and a overly
responsible women! Seriously though, the characters are amazing and you
honestly cant help but fall in love with both Amanda and Mick, I completely
related to Amanda's feelings of always being the responsible person and just
wanting to break out and be a little reckless, just to have that bit of joy
that is always just a little bit out of her reach. Where it comes to Mick; you
cannot honestly feel compassion for him and his brothers, having their family
destroyed by their father! But you can applaud him for fighting to be a better
man that his father.
The plot of this book is divine! Seriously, its like a hot and sexy
office romance, but brought up to 2016 standards! This ain't your momma's
romances folks! This is about a women not willing to sit around and waiting for
someone to come along and find her! This is about a women going out and seeking
what she need and I applaud the author into updating this age old story line,
but is her own way and in the unique writing style that is Melissa Foster.
