Loveswept

The Carolina Cold Fury hockey team proves that love is a power play. As Sawyer Bennett’s New York Times bestselling series continues, the league’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.

Off
the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze
and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the
minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from
that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart
without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she
walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her
eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.

Vale Campbell isn’t the
same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her
reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare
her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke
around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to
do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

Vale Campbell was the love of Hawke Therrien's life, but when she broke
things off with him an he was left a shattered man, but headed to Pittsburgh
without looking back, to become the star hockey player, he was destined to be.
After 7 long years of working himself, through the ranks, up to the elite
defense man; he traded to Cold Fury, Hawke plans to make an equal success
there…that is until he finds out Vale is there too!

Vale was shattered when she had to let Hawke go, in order to save
herself. She managed to get clean and start to make a better life for herself.
But everything changed when her father became gravely Ill  and the only place to help him was Duke
Medical Center. So through connections of her father, a perfect job was made
for her at Cold Fury as an assistant Medical. But what she wasn't expecting was
coming back into contact with Hawke, or still having feeling for him…especially
when she already had a boyfriend.

But the closer they are, the more sparks that fly between Vale and
Hawke. But can misunderstandings, missed calls and emails really be overcome or
will old and new hurts destroy everything they could ever have together?!

I have to say I absolutely love Sawyer Bennett's Cold fury series! It
has truly been the one sports romance series that I have stayed with! Why? Because the authors writing is not
only thrilling, gripping and quite frankly brilliant! But she writes about real
life! She writes that her characters are not perfect; but has flaws, addictions
and have made such terrible decisions, that in real life, most people would
have written them off. But I love the way that the author tries to give
everyone a second and sometimes third chance.

So now I have waffled on about the writing, let's get to the plot! And
WOW! It was a plot that I didn't see coming, but just fit perfectly in with the
Cold Fury's band of misfits!

I absolutely loved all of the old and new characters in this book; and
while I could talk forever about, how much I loved Hawke and Vale. I am left
gasping for details about Avery!! I don't know why, but her character really
gripped me and left me hoping that she finds her happy place, despite her
really small presence in this book! So I'm appealing the author for
information…and I'm not above begging.

I cannot even tell you just how much I loved Hawke! And if I could give
it a billion stars I would! But seen as I'm limited, I will give it the maximum
5 stars! Because it sure as heck worth it!
